Behind The Scenes of Coaching

Whether you’re burnt out from saying “yes” to everything, navigating a career pivot, struggling to build habits that stick, or growing a purpose-driven business - you’re not alone.

As a career & life coach, I partner with purpose-driven individuals to turn intention into aligned action. My coachees range from professionals at a crossroads to small business owners launching meaningful ventures.

Below, you’ll find a few of my popular coaching methods. Each framework is flexible, human, and customizable - because your version of “success” should feel like yours.

New methods are always emerging, shaped by the people I work with. If you're looking for something tailored, let's build it together!

What it’s like to be in a session

No two sessions are the same, but there are similarities in how I work with my coachees toward clarity and direction.

  • You choose the direction of the conversation. I don’t show up with a fixed agenda or predetermined outcome. Instead, I follow your thinking and your questions.

This often creates a shift from “being told what to do” to actively thinking through your own situation in real time together. My role is to help you slow things down, see more clearly without imposing a specific solution.

  • When you’re inside a situation that keeps you up at night, everything can feel harder to untangle. We use analogy and visual thinking to create some distance.

In sessions, my coachees have developed these analogies:

    • seeing their new business as a baby, and realizing it’s not fair to place “adult” expectations on it (e.g., generate sustained revenue at this time)

    • seeing themselves as a rising star player in sports, and recognizing the support they want is a “sports coach” who can both cheer them on and keep pushing them to be better

    • visualizing their energy as a full plate, and comparing what is currently keeping it full vs what they’d like to see on the plate

  • At times, I may bring in a piece of personal or professional lived experience - but only when it helps move the conversation forward.

This isn’t about giving advice or making the session about me. It’s about offering something concrete that helps you see what feels difficult or unclear as something is actually navigable in real life.

In sessions, I have shared my experience:

    • navigating high-pressure consulting and corporate environments with demanding clients and expectations

    • moving through burnout and stepping away from work to rebuild my self-confidence and energy

    • unpacking cultural and generational conditioning as a Chinese woman around worth, identity, and performance

    • navigating the uncertainty and fluctuating successes of building an independent business from the ground up
