About Us

Uplift Collective is a social club for corporate sustainability professionals to connect in-person. Toronto is our first chapter and the start of a broader vision to build a community of local chapters to uplift each other and create space for everyone, particularly in the world of global sustainability and personal wellbeing. Our focus is on authentic support and we love community coffee chats & organic, informal, member-led gatherings.

  • Success is seeing this community and platform being shaped by the people who are part of it.

    The vision is to see members engage with Uplift Collective as their 3rd space, ideally in-person, any where in the world. Members are empowered to host events/informal gatherings, coming together organically to elevate each other with their personal & professional goals. We are gradually becoming the 'go-to' 3rd space for sustainability professionals to connect, ideate, and drive meaningful impact within their own spheres of influence.

    1. [Not currently active] Virtual engagement: Discord is the online platform where all our members can stay connected and in-the-know. There are dedicated channels for discussing various sustainability/wellbeing topics. It’s great for resource sharing and interacting with others. Engage by contributing what you know, sending emojis, and actively participating in conversations that matter to you!

    2. In-person events: Any member, anywhere in the world can host community coffee chats, support circles, or just a fun gathering (e.g., tree planting, karaoke, etc.). The only ask for hosts is that events are free to attend. If any costs come up (meals, rentals, activity fees, etc.), everyone simply covers their own share. If it’s at your local coffee shop, it’d be great if members can purchase a small snack/drink to support local.

  • There’s no shortage of sustainability groups to join out there, but what makes Uplift Collective unique is:

    • Focus on open discussion and exploration based on ideas/thoughts the members bring (there won’t be keynote speakers, webinars, or newsletters, expect small member-led group discussions or events to form organically)

    • Emphasis on shared and decentralized power (distributing roles to grow this community and not putting any individual on a pedestal)

    • Intention to serve the members (there is no agenda besides lifting each other up personally and professionally)

  • Events are generally free to attend; however, if any costs come up during a gathering (meals, rentals, activity fees, etc.), everyone simply covers their own share.

    To keep the platform running, donations are always welcome and appreciated. Contributions help us host larger events, collaborate with local businesses, and continue growing a strong, connected community.

  • While the community established its first chapter in Toronto, this is meant to be a global community. The first few community coffee chats and events (e.g., nature walk) took place in Toronto, since this is where many Founding Members are based.

​Community Coffee Chats

This is an open invite for anyone to swing by, particularly those who are sustainability professionals or ESG curious - the idea was inspired by the time I spend doing 1:1 coffee chats and realizing how much collective knowledge and inspiration could be shared if we had coffee chats in community.
